Directions

When in doubt look at the map. Check your position at each point. Keep straight on unless otherwise directed.
01.
Left from National Parks car park, right to town centre, pass Devonshire Hotel and stay on road uphill, signed dead-end road after junction.
02.
Track on right opposite house at old quarry area with viewbench (fingerpost). Pass mast.
03.
Fieldgate into field and fork left uphill (fingerpost signed Hebden Gill). At 'x' junction in same field fork right, that is almost straight on, track drops gently (telegraph poles to right) to fieldgate, walled track, pass house.
04.
Fieldgate near 'New House' and track with wall to left, double walled stretch, fieldgate, downhill by wall to right. Track turns right downhill, double walled.
05.
Fieldgate and fieldgate left to riverside track, 2 fords 100 yards apart are avoidable. Pass quarry to left, stay on main track at left hand bend uphill, 50 yards, right fork to grassy track, 50 yards, rejoin main track and join wall to right.
06.
Fieldgate in wall on right (old fingerpost) and immediately tiny step-stream to gravel track. See Powder House 100 yards to left and return to track. Through gateway and keep on track uphill, 100 yards, left at T-junction and track past more mine remains.
07.
Left to dead-end road downhill.
