Keep straight on unless otherwise directed. 01 Left from parking area, road into Castleton, track on right (signed Deerhowe Farm, fingerpost on left), left fork down to grass track between house and barn (waymark), fieldgate into field, 100 yards, fieldgate (waymark), 25 yards then by hedge to your left, fieldgate (waymark) and down by hedge. 02 Fieldgate and stream and immediately right by hedge (fingerpost), old boundary, fieldgate (waymark), 03 Join track that angles across two fields. Fieldgate (waymark) and 10 o’clock across fields (waymarked fieldgates) to beckside path (fieldgates). 04 Left to road, second left and immediately right to farm road, right fork. 05 Gate to field-edge path on left before house, 100 yards to gate to moor, uphill 200 yards, path/track on left back downhill and right at paths junction to join path generally by wall. Fieldgate in fence. 06 At tennis court, left to drive (Rowantree Farm, waymark), 200 yards. At bend, fieldgate on right (waymark) to fieldedge path straight downhill by field boundaries to your right, ladderstile, wall stile. Wall stile in ‘notch’ near fieldgate and copse to right and immediately right, 100 yards, fieldgate and 1 o’clock 100 yards to stile/fieldgate (waymark), cross field 1 o’clock to fieldgate. 07 Right to road, 100 yards, wallstile on left (signed), 50 yards, wall stile on right after garden, diagonally across field to ladderstile but usage is around for crop and birds (waymark), left, fieldgate, up through yard. 08 Right to tarmac drive, pass cottage, 50 yards, track on left, 10 yards, grass track on left (OPTION if no dog go to top), by wood then wall, ignore left fork downhill. Right to road by house, ignore first left, left in Castleton.
