01 Right to road from Tea Room in Hardraw, track on right after outdoor centre (signed), 100 yards, ladderstile on left (waymark), 1 o’clock, ladderstile/fieldgate (waymark), cross field, ladderstile, 50 yards, stile, 20 yards, left, squeezer (waymark), 1 o’clock, 100 yards.
02 At fingerpost, left and via 4 waymarked posts, fieldgate near left-hand corner (yellow dot), downhill, fieldgate (waymark), cross field, squeezer.
03 Left on main road, bridge, steps on right (waymark), riverside path, stile and through trees via waymarked post, ladderstile, path 11 o’clock uphill to skirt wood via waymarked post, ladderstile (fingerpost), 2 o’clock, squeezer, 150 yards.
04 Ladderstile on right, path downhill through wood, ‘stepping stones’ over stream and left, fieldgate by barn (fingerpost), by wall to gate.
05 Left to track (fingerpost), left fork below farm, fieldgate, cattlegrid/fieldgate, ignore two lefts ignore a right by ruined barn, cattlegrid/fieldgate.
06 Gateway on track bend, 50 yards, right between crag and bog (fingerpost), gate, 3 successive fieldgates (waymarked), 11 o’clock towards house, fieldgate (waymark), ford.
07 Fieldgate between house and barn, right to track, bridge and immediately metal fieldgate into small yard, fieldgate into field, 2 o’clock uphill 100 yards (via fingerpost), fieldgate and right (fingerpost), down to stile.
08 Cross main road, bridge and straight on to 1o’clock path in trees for 50 yards (fingerpost), ladderstile, 1 o’clock uphill over grass to top end of trees, ladderstile, 1 o’clock uphill, waymarked post, wall stile and waymarked post, cross field, ladderstile, 11 o’clock downhill between new trees, stile in fence, 11 o’clock.
09 Left to dead-end road. Opposite house with porch cum dovecote turn right for concrete footbridge, right by ruined house/barn and stream, fieldgate, 200 yards, gated squeezer on left, 1 o’clock for 100 yards, stile by tree (waymark), 11 o’clock, footbridge with 2 stiles.
10 Uphill 2 o’clock (fingerpost), squeezer above copse, 2 o’clock for 10 yards to waymarked post then angle right to contour on grassy path. Gated squeezer by barn, gateway, pass large barn, squeezer and nearby stile, stile in fence, wall stile.
11 Fieldgate (ancient yellow dot mark) then path angles up to fallen wall (fingerpost/waymark) via short stretch of wall.
12 Ladderstile (waymark), downhill, right to track in field (fingerpost), right at junction (fingerpost) to ladderstile/fieldgate and walled track downhill.
